The Exhibition: Narrative Space

An exhibition of art, sound and the imprint of history

Narrative Space is an investigation into the way a house adopts its own personality over time. We are interested in the narratives that accumulate within a house and the traces they leave behind – the traces that are embedded in the walls and under the floorboards. Our artists have taken Villa Alba as their muse and reinterpreted its history, literally and metaphorically. The story of
Villa Alba – with its deterioration and gradual regeneration – is the point of departure for each artist’s exploration of the intersection between memory, place and narrative. We will be exhibiting work in a range of different mediums, from handmade books to sound installation, painting and sculpture.

Presented by the Reverie Team: Sarah Parker // Isobel Parker Philip // Daryl Prondoso // Marius Foley // Villa Alba Museum Inc.
